Day to day Safety Match

Safety matches are a type of match that can only be ignited by striking the match on a special striking surface, usually found on the side of the matchbox. This is in contrast to strike-anywhere matches, which can be ignited by striking them on any rough surface.  Safety matches are made up of three main components: the head, the stem, and the striking surface. Safety matches generally considered to be safer than strike-anywhere matches and are used for lighting cigarettes, candles, and fireplaces.
